Frye footwear have been around since 1863, but achieved their greatest
popularity a century later, when their soft leathers, chunky heels
and bulky toes walked across campuses and into the hearts of all
who wore them.

Harness Boots 12R
"No Doubt About It - I had my eye on these boots for three
months and when I finally got them I was more than satisfied! Although
they could be a bit more comfortable if you have to stand in them
for hours at a time, as far as boots go, they fit well and they
look as good with a pair of slacks and a sport coat as they do with
a pair of jeans. I love the history behind the Frye boots, and the
retro stylings of these in particular (I've had several people say,
"I had boots like that in the seventies!"), and everywhere
I go people compliment the boots. The strap and harness really does
a lot to give the boots character and has the added benefit of making
the toe look smaller than it is, so people with larger feet (12+)
should be able to wear the boots without it looking like a clown
shoe. All in all, these are beautiful, well-made boots that get
attention and get the job done as well."
"I love
these boots! I got these in tan a couple of months ago and have
worn them at least every other day most weeks and every day in other
weeks. I have received many compliments on them. They are not quite
as soft as I imagined they would be, but still comfortable---I walk
about 1 mile total each day as part of my commute, and I haven't
gotten blisters from them. My feet are wide, so the front of the
shoe feels a little narrow, but they have stretched with time. Based
on previous reviews, I ordered a half size smaller, and they fit
perfectly."
"Like buttah!
100% comfortable right out of the box, and the best-made footwear
I've ever owned, at any price. My foot is a real 10.5 (Euro 42)
so I normally have to go up to an 11 since American manufacturers
never make a 10.5, but the good folks at Frye assured me that this
style runs about a half size large, so I ordered the 10, and it
fits like a glove. I also have rather large calves, and these just
fit (I might have the shafts stretched a little). Zappos lists the
calf width as 13.5", but that's for a much smaller size. If
you call the Frye company, they can tell you the exact measurement
for your particular size. I wore these right out of the box for
a full day with lots of walking in the city, and then spent the
evening at the barn in slush and ice, and these boots were comfortable
throughout all of it. The rubber soles have great (but still stirrup-safe,
if that's a concern) traction, and easily go from urban hipster
to practical farm wear. The dark olive is a nice neutral color,
that looks like black in some light, decidedly greeny in others.
More mossy than olive, though I think."
"six years
- I've been wearing a pair of these for about six years now and
I can definately Qualfy these as well made long wearing boots. I
wear them 90% of my non working hours and with occasional applications
of mink oil they have held up very well(I can still shine them up
and wear them with a suit!(rare occasion). I mainly got these for
riding (motorcycle) but as they are quite comfortable I wear them
almost all the time. I've had them resoled twice the only problem
I've had is the harness which has stretched out and hangs down near
the heal . I will be getting a new pair soon and will probably get
Frye's belted harness boots (it has a belt buckle on the harness
and can be tightened) for that reason."

"Super Boots! I have two pairs: Black and Medium Brown. These
are the best boots available by Frye. I wear them (to work) with
suits and ties as well as jeans. And I have steel horseshoe taps
on the heels; they make a really good sound, and add to the excitement
of wearing tall boots. I believe in taking the best care of boots
that I can; I keep them shined up. Distinctive, noticeable footwear
is an important part of one's image. I hope that Frye doesn't ever
stop making these boots."

"Awesome,
sexy boots - Love these! They are "tough" looking but
sexy. I got these in the Tobacco color and it's more beautiful in
person than in this photo. Very earthy. They are perfect for jeans
and slacks and the side zip is really a plus. My foot tends to be
wide but these fit very well and are so comfortable. They can be
dressed up or down and I often wear them to work (I work in an office
setting). The quality is impeccable, these will last for years and
years."
"I love
my boots - I always get complimented on them because they look so
cool. They are very comfortable. The only thing I would improve
is the leather. The old boots were made of the highest quality leather,
and these don't meet that standard."
"Frye makes
good boots! I purchased these boots and I love it. It is a great
looking boot and more important than that, it is comfortable. I
hope it lasts a long time. I do think that the tougher leather would
have been better, but overall it is a good shoe."
